Acuity is a non profit organisation led by working members of the optometry community. We were founded in 1934 as the Scottish Committee of Optometrists, to support the development of the optometry profession, both socially and politically.
Today Acuity has evolved to provide excellent optometric training. We have extensive experience in delivering relevant education and we are proud to be recognised by the Scottish Government as the primary professional competency body for optometry in Scotland.
Our voluntary committee contains members from every health board region in Scotland and our membership stretches across the country and beyond.
Quite simply, we are an organisation run for optometrists, by optometrists.
